Spring Cleaning ...

... the tradition of thoroughly cleaning a house in the Springtime. Depending on which version speaks to you, it is said Spring Cleaning has it's origins in the religious traditions of getting ready for Passover or alternatively, it is simply a tradition, typically followed by those living in colder climates, who with the arrival of warmer weather, welcome the ability to open the doors and clean away the detritus of winter.

In our household, since we both hate housework, there is no big ritual or undertaking here to observe the arrival of Spring by cleaning house.

However, it is a time when we consider chores such as window cleaning, deck sweeping, shooing the spiders back outside (did you know spiders come indoors in the Fall, looking for love :>)) ... and the outdoor Spring requirements of looking after over an acre of property.

This year, I am undertaking a Spring Cleaning of the metaphorical kind ... a cleaning of the cobwebs of my mind. Unlike the last two years, where I had the excitement of sexual and relationship revolutions to carry me through into Spring, this year that excitement is missing - I have been hit with the Winter blues yet again ... Frank has been hit with Shingles (get your vaccinations folks!) ... and between the two of us it's been a quiet transition into March.

However, as of this week, I have decided I can't always rely on Frank to make it better - the last spanking session we had hardly registered - well it registered on my ass and I have the marks to prove it but it did nothing for my mind :>) ... I have decided I need to take some responsibility for my emotional well being. I've started by going back to revisit some of my old self motivational audio files, undertaking some new mindful meditation exercises (that *&^%ing Lola Libido better get her ass back from whatever sunny climes vacation she's been on!) and working hard at finding my submissive self  ... yup, it's time for Spring Cleaning, nj style!

Hope the 'almost upon us' advent of Spring has you excited about new paths ... and some spanky fun in the sun!

thanks for dropping by! ... nj and Frank

  1. Spring Cleaning -- I used to do it.... clean out the cobwebs -- and I found scrubbing and polishing seemed to help my inner self ...... not so much these last few years.

As for spring -- Saturday I actually got to wear my 'new me' spring coat -- and then today we awoke to SNOW !!! dear god -- more snow!!!

Tell Frank I feel for him -- shingles ugh!! I had them a few years back ... he has my sympathies for sure !

  2. My husband was writing up a list for spring cleaning around the house. I hate housework so the list only worsened my mood. I hope that spring is really coming because I can't handle many more grey days with rain. I need the sunshine to hopefully get me in the right frame of mind. Yes it does take two, Ty can spank but I need to be ready and able to use the spanking. I hope that Frank feels better soon. Hope there is a spanking in your near future.

  3. Hi NJ, spring cleaning is something I usually do, however not this last spring due to circumstances and other commitments. Hope you kick the winter blues and that Frank feels better soon.

  4. Spring cleaning - not a big fan. Now that I'm retired you would think my house would be spotless. I certainly have the time. But I like spending that time in other ways. However, believe it or not, the house seems to stay much cleaner than it used to. We manage to keep the board of health away.

I hope Frank feels better very soon, and that spring eventually comes into out lives, and that we all dust the cobwebs out of our heads for fun ideas at home and at least a few we can blog about.

  5. NJ, gosh, I hope Frank feels better soon.

Over here, I was thinking spring cleaning time too. Instead, I got a spring cold along with ice rain.

Here is hoping your spring cleaning bug (if it is a spider, you can keep it thanks!) Makes it over here soon. If not, you know the invite stands, feel free to come clean my house!

  6. In the literal sense I am with Morningstar, beautiful here Saturday snow yesterday and today. So no big clean going on just yet!

Metaphorically I'm right there with you. My friend from Australia said to me the other day he's going to start saying something Game of Thrones ( I don't watch) "Winter is upon us" because I/we tend to get in a funk. In our defense winter is effing long in Ontario!!!! Anyway whenever I decide to clear the cobwebs out if my mind so my submission receptors work better, I always think of this quote:
You’ve always had the power, my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself.”
    – Glinda (The Good Witch), The Wizard of Oz

Best if luck to you! And I hope Frank feels better soon. Off to remind B he needs to get his vaccine.

  7. Hi Nora Jean, :) It always seems as though that last month of winter is the toughest to get through. We just switched the clock forward an hour around here, and it is amazing what a little bit more daylight can do for the soul! Hang in there! I think it is wonderful that you are taking some time for yourself, reflecting, and soul cleansing! Good for you!

Oh the shingles!! Poor Frank! I've never had it, but know that it is rough and painful too. I hope that he feels better soon. That stinks! Vaccinations are a must. I've been on a waiting list for one around at my medical (the newer one, but next month I will definitely be getting one asap, even if I have to go elsewhere! Feel good! Many hugs,

    ❤️Katie xoxo

    1. There is a funny meme somewhere on the internet, Katie, that talks about the time change to DST being kinda like cutting the bottom off a sheet and sewing it to the other end, thinking you can make it longer ... hahaha!

Yes, the shingles pox ... the nerve pain is the killer ... and Frank has them on his head so his left eye was a worry but a specialist appt yesterday gave him the all clear in that dept. And yes, I will now be getting my vaccine (I had shingles years ago when I was in my 30's) ... so good that you're getting yours as well. ... hugs! ... nj

  8. Hi, Nora Jean. :) I've been feeling those winter blahs too. They can be so hard. I've been starting a 30 day submissive email program, and also looking at a book on submission, as well a browsing sites. I am learning a lot, and it's great. :)

Looked after a five year old once who had shingles, oh, no fun. Have they told you about the pill that can take it away in one dose? We weren't told right away, but then another doctor saw him, and gave his mom the medicine, 24 hours later he only had pink healing spots, all the scabs and blisters were gone, we were amazed. Hope Frank feels better soon!

    Hugs, EsMay

    1. Good for you, EsMay, setting about doing some things to take your mind off the blues and on your submissive self. And no, I have not heard about the one pill antidote ... maybe it's something for kids. Frank's was a 10 day series of antiviral medication. He is just now done with it today and yes, thank-you, he is feeling better! ... nj ... xx

  9. NJ,
Well right now, I'm not feeling submissive and I am not in the mood to spring clean my house or my brain. I'm mad at him because the garage door is hanging 1/4 of the way off and he needs to get somebody here to fix it already! Grrrr!

I do not like the bouncing an hour forward in the Spring. However, it does get us more daylight hours and that signals my brain toward one thing and one thing only FISHING!!!!!!!!!! Hope Frank gets rid of the crud soon and can go fishing for whatever is in season at your place in the spring! Hope you can get your brain where you want it. LOL Let me know if it works! Clever post! Hugs! Windy

    1. Fishing weather is just around the corner, my friend ... so get your poles ready to go (and by that I do mean your pole not Storm's ...haha!) Frank missed out on a fishing day the day we realized his few days of zinging head pain was shingles ... and he's not got back out since ... he is looking forward to getting back out on the ocean again ... and yes, my brain is exactly where it needs to be now ... lol! ... hugs! ... nj
